Over 5,000 residents of Minakulu subcounty, Oyam South in Oyam district are celebrating the repair of two boreholes by Oyam South Parliamentary Aspirant Patrick Ogwang Obura.

According to a report, these boreholes located in Obanga oloko and Boda villages in Kulu Abura Parish, Minakulu subcounty, had been non-functional for the last 6 years, resulting in a severe water crisis for the surrounding community.

Martin Obong, the LC1 Chairperson of Boda village, expressed gratitude for this development, noting that the community previously faced a numerous challenge, including competition for water, which led to conflict and enmity among locals.

Speaking to our reporter, some community members from these two villages commended Ogwang Obura for his borehole rehabilitation initiative, saying that water scarcity had previously forced them to use unsafe water from the streams, leading to widespread intestinal infections including diarrhea.

Conclusively, community members were visibly excited about the restoration of the boreholes and pledged their support for Patrick Ogwang Obura in the upcoming Oyam South Parliamentary elections, praising his visionary leadership demonstrated even before joining parliament.
