In a major development, members of Parliament under the Lango Parliamentary Group, LPG, have intensified their persistent efforts and follow-up engagements regarding the full package of ancillary projects tied to the construction of Akii-Bua Stadium.

The legislators yesterday held a crucial meeting with the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament to advance discussions on the matter.

The total package under consideration includes the upgrading of the Aboke-Bobi road to tarmac, the establishment of a training football pitch at Lira University, and the tarmacking of the entire access road leading to the university. It also encompasses the rehabilitation of Anai Airport, the construction and tarmacking of access roads to and around Akii-Bua Stadium, as well as improvements at Lira Regional Referral Hospital, particularly the installation of emergency facilities and MRI machines.

Following yesterday’s high-level discussions with the Speaker, the indefatigable LPG members are scheduled to hold another important follow-up meeting with three key ministers — the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Education and Sports, and the Minister of Health — to ensure the successful realization of Akii-Bua Stadium’s total package.

The group expressed optimism that through joint action and collaborative advantages, their persistent efforts will yield positive outcomes for the people of Lango and the nation at large.
