Mpox patient discharged after full recovery in Oyam district

A patient diagnosed with Mpox (commonly known as Monkeypox) in Oyam district has been discharged after making a full recovery. 

The patient, who was treated at Anyeke HCIV, has been cleared by medical professionals and advised to maintain proper hygiene to prevent any potential spread of the virus.

Dr. Caroline Agaro, the Assistant District Health Officer (DHO) of Oyam, confirmed that the patient, who had been isolated at Anyeke HCIV, tested negative and was subsequently discharged. She added that contact tracing efforts would continue as a precautionary measure.

Dr. Patrick Omara, the Incharge of Anyeke Health IV, verified that the patient’s test results indicated they were fit for discharge.

Meanwhile, Benson Dilla, the Oyam LC5 Chairman, emphasised the importance of continued vigilance and adherence to preventive measures to curb the spread of Mpox.
