Oyam journalist Simon Peter Oceng battling for his life after assault

Simon Peter Oceng, journalist attached to Shine FM, a local Radio station in Oyam Town Council, Oyam district is fighting or his life at one of the health facility in Lira City following a recent attack on him at his work place.
Oceng popular as Rev Oceng Amolo as reportedly assaulted on Tuesday by Stalon Olong, Oyam base businessman and a staunch NRM Supporter accusing him of playing campaign song for Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku, a UPC candidate during their talk show, a claimed Olong has since denied.
Oceng who is receiving treatment at Anyeke HCIV in Oyam District as on Friday transferred to undisclosed health facility in Lira city for further management as his condition.
Denis Olila, an attendant to Oceng from the Health facility appealed for financial support to save Oceng’s life.
David Opio, the clan head of Oromo agwata wil clan says the matter will be taken by clan so that Oceng get justice.
Recently, addressing journalists in Oyam, Betty Aol Ocan, Gulu city woman Mp condemned brutal attack on journalist an opposition parties ahead of the 2023 Oyam North North By-election, however Oyam RDC, William Komakech assured residents of security during and after the by-election.
