The outgoing RDC of Oyam hands over office to new RDC

This development followed the recent transfer of RDCs, RCCs, and their deputies by the Office of the President of Uganda. Former RDC for Oyam, William Komakech, who was transferred to Lamwo district, was succeeded by SGT Sheilaku James, who was transferred from Abim district to Oyam district.

During the handover and takeover ceremony on Wednesday, William Komakech, the outgoing RDC of Oyam district, expressed his appreciation to civil servants, political leaders, and locals of Oyam district for the supportive working environment provided during his term in office.

He urged the new team to foster teamwork among civil servants, political leaders, and locals for the successful development of Oyam district.

Upon taking over the office, the new RDC of Oyam district, SGT Shilaku James, also praised the outgoing RDC for the commendable record and legacy established in Oyam. He called on all stakeholders in Oyam district to work together to ensure the district remains peaceful.

Benson Walter Dilla Oyuku, the LC5 Chairman of Oyam district, mentioned that he had a positive working relationship with the outgoing RDC during his brief time in Oyam district. He also urged the newly transferred RDC, SGT Shilaku James, to maintain this approach and bring positive change to Oyam district.

Hon. Dilla concluded by urging the Oyam community to welcome and work with the new RDC for effective implementation of government programmes and service delivery in the district.

Jaspher Onena, the Chairperson of the NRM party in Oyam, commended the outgoing RDC of Oyam for the tangible work he had accomplished in the district, regardless of political party, religion, or tribe. He urged him to continue this approach with the people of Lamwo district, where he will be working next.
