A well-known radio journalist in Lango and respected Taekwondo master, Charles Osendro, has called on Lira City authorities to formally recognise musician Brazen Rule for his significant contributions to the region’s cultural identity and heritage.

Osendro noted that as far back as 2006, long before Lira attained city status, Brazen Rule released the visionary track “Lira City.” He said the song’s prophetic message has since come to fruition, making it timely and appropriate for city leaders to acknowledge the artist’s contribution.

He proposed that authorities consider offering a financial token of appreciation or establishing a permanent tribute — such as naming a street or public building after him, for example, “Brazen Rule Block.” According to Osendro, individuals with such rare foresight deserve to be remembered by future generations.

Osendro also highlighted that Brazen Rule is the composer of the beloved “Lango Province” anthem, a song widely embraced across the region. Despite this, the musician is often absent from official performances when the Lango Province team takes to the pitch.

He questioned why, in a region with many educated, wealthy, and influential leaders — including ministers, members of parliament, mayors, LC5 chairpersons, and other dignitaries — the artist has not been properly recognised.

Recognising Brazen Rule at official events, Osendro said, would not only honour the musician but also motivate other local creators who contribute to the region’s cultural identity.

He concluded with a strong appeal to leaders: “Let our leaders wake up and give credit where it is due. May God open your eyes to see the value of our own.”
