Obangakene Augustine has threatened to defect party

HON AUGUSTINE OBANGAKENE
During a telephone interview with our news desk yesterday, Obangakene Augustine expressed dissatisfaction on how the NRM primary was conducted which was only favoring an individual candidate at the expense of others.
He said, this was a biggest mistake done by party officials of initiating divisionism within the party .
Augustine said that he is still deciding on his fate whether to join the arena as NRM candidate or to defect to another party yet to be identified a head of 2026 general election.
Obangakene stressed that he is still making consultations basing on what transpired in the just concluded by-election in Oyam north that led to the fall of NRM candidate in favor of UPC candidate.

Hon Obangakene said that president Museveni should not be blamed for the NRM failure in Oyam but it should be apportioned to some few individuals within the Party who tend to underestimate the contribution of others.
Jaspher Onena the C/p NRM Oyam blamed the loss incurred by NRM in the by-election to poor coordination and disunity ushered in the party by NRM secretariat.
