This call was made yesterday by Nelson Adea Akar, the UPC chairperson for Oyam district, during an in-house meeting held at his residence in Adyegi Parish, Aber Subcounty, Oyam district.
The meeting attracted all Parish and Subcounty UPC chairpersons from across Oyam district, as well as all aspirants vying for the UPC flag in various leadership positions. These included Joe Owilli, Dr Odongo Richard Monday, Dr Otim Tom, and one of the women who has shown interest in unseating the incumbent Woman Member of Parliament for Oyam district, among others.
In his remarks, Nelson Adea Akar, the UPC chairperson for Oyam district, noted that primary elections often divide members of the same party. He called for unity and cooperation among UPC members if they are to succeed.
Dr Odongo Richard Monday, an aspirant for the Oyam South parliamentary seat, expressed his appreciation to the UPC chairperson for Oyam district for organising this special meeting, which he believes will help prepare them for the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Geoffrey Otoo Libi, the UPC chairperson for Adel Parish, described the meeting as a sign of victory for the mighty UPC, calling upon voters to support UPC candidates in the upcoming 2026 general election if they want peace and prosperity.
