Lango Province were crowned champions of the 4th edition of the FUFA Drum today at the MTN Omomdi Stadium after first-half goals from Darius Ojok in the 8th minute and Emmanuel Obua in the 32nd minute secured their first Drum title. Despite the absence of Omedi and Aliro, who are on international duty, Lango Province appeared more dominant against Busoga, missing the services of Villa’s Kenneth Ssemakula, who was also part of the Cranes team that played against Comoros last evening.
The fans enjoyed every moment of the game.
The game seemed one-sided in the first half, with Allan Okello and Joel Sserujogi dominating the midfield. However, Busoga Province pushed hard in the second half, with Lawrence Tezikya’s goal not enough to secure them the championship despite the games nail biting moments until the final whistle was blown.
The final occurred weeks after drama that nearly led to the current champions withdrawing due to issues with the date and venue.
The FUFA Drum, which began in 2018, was postponed from 2020 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic
