The Member of Parliament for Oyam North Constituency, Hon. Eunice Apio Otuku, has honored her campaign commitment made at Abok by donating a complete solar power system to Itubara Primary School.

The package, which includes a 145-watt solar panel, battery, controller, and connecting wires, was officially handed over to the school on her behalf by Hon. Anna Ekol.

The donation is expected to significantly improve the learning environment by providing reliable lighting for evening studies and enhancing the school’s overall operations.

Speaking on behalf of Hon. Apio at Itubara Primary School yesterday, Hon. Anna Ekol emphasized that the donation was part of the pledge made during the campaign period in Itubara Parish, Abok Sub-county. She urged the school to put the solar system to good use, particularly in strengthening security and supporting education. She further clarified that the gesture was not political, stressing that schools belong to everyone in Uganda.

Eduka Denis ,the headteacher of Itubara Primary School noted that the promise had been made before his transfer to the institution, but upon learning of it, he had waited with anticipation. He expressed gratitude, saying the solar system would greatly benefit the school now and in the future, and called upon Hon. Apio to continue with her spirit of generosity.

Tonny Okello, a parent at the school, expressed excitement on behalf of fellow parents, appreciating Hon. Apio’s support. He described her as a leader committed to the development of education in Oyam North Constituency and encouraged other leaders to emulate her example in promoting educational growth.

This donation marks another milestone in Hon. Apio’s efforts to uplift education standards and improve community welfare across Oyam North.
