Rev. David Oluma Reaffirms Unity in the Anglican Church of Uganda

Rev. Oluma dismissed claims of a breakaway faction known as the “Anglican Reform Church,” describing it as a self-created group that has strayed due to indiscipline.

In a strong message delivered during Sunday preaching at St. Peter’s Church, Anyeke,in Oyam Urban Archdeaconry, Rev. David Oluma, the headteacher of Loro Primary School, emphasized that the Anglican Church of Uganda remains united and undivided.

Rev. Oluma dismissed claims of a breakaway faction known as the “Anglican Reform Church,” describing it as a self-created group that has strayed due to indiscipline. He clarified that no official division exists within the Anglican Church of Uganda, stressing that the church continues to stand firm in its mission and doctrine.

Speaking to the congregation, Rev. Oluma urged believers not to be misled by individuals or groups attempting to sow confusion. He noted that the so-called reform group had chosen its own path outside the established church structure, and therefore cannot claim legitimacy as part of the Anglican Church of Uganda.

The sermon highlighted the importance of unity, discipline, and adherence to the values of the church. Rev. Oluma reminded worshippers that the Anglican Church of Uganda has a long history of resilience and faith, and that its strength lies in remaining steadfast against divisions.

His remarks come at a time when rumors of splinter groups have circulated in some communities, raising concerns among Christians. By addressing the issue directly, Rev. Oluma reassured the faithful that the church leadership is committed to preserving harmony and guiding believers in the right direction.

Prisca Auma congregation at St. Peter’s Church received his message with applause, signaling strong support for the call to unity. Peter okeng echoed his sentiments, affirming that the Anglican Church of Uganda continues to thrive as one body of Christ.
