While addressing our reporter Jimmy Aroma the headteacher of Anyeke Primary School expressed that the rate at which learners are turning up for schools is alarming for all the schools in Oyam Town Council.

Aroma attributed the low turn up of learners to laxity and reluctances by the parents to take concern in educating their children

He says parents should make preparation early and have all the necessary requirements so that opening of schools should not be a surprise to them.

Jimmy Aroma said that out of 1,664 pupils enrolled last year only 444 turned up to begin first term academic year 2023 at Anyeke Primary school  This he said will have a diverse impact and will drastically trim down the performance of learners in Oyam Town Council.

He therefore caution parents to desist from an illusion that first week of the term is meant for reporting of learners but the trend has changed and schools have embarked on the effective teaching and learning in the first week.
