Dokolo District authorities have launched an investigation into allegations of document forgery against Okello David Livingstone, the district’s Inspector of Schools.
The Inspectorate of Government (IG) opened a formal case of forgery at the Dokolo Central Police Station on July 25, 2025, ordering the district to dismiss Okello over claims that he falsified academic and employment documents to secure his positions as both a secondary school teacher and, later, Inspector of Schools.
The North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, confirmed that the Inspectorate of Government is actively investigating the case and has instructed local police to carry out a parallel inquiry.
Okema further stated that a general inquiry file has been opened at Dokolo Central Police Station under reference GEF: 04/2025.
Okello has been arrested and released on bail, and statements have been recorded from the District Education department leaders and other relevant parties to aid in the investigation.
However, police have yet to obtain statements from key figures, including the Chairman of the District Service Commission, and Human Resource Officer who are expected to play a significant role in the case.
Additionally, investigators are in the process of retrieving Okello’s official appointment documents from the Ministry of Education and Sports for further scrutiny.
Once the investigation is completed, Okema said the case file will be forwarded to the Resident State Attorney in Dokolo for legal advice and further action.
