Teddy Tumuhimbise, best known as “Excavator,” the District Councilor representing Matale and Karama subcounties, is currently nursing injuries at St. Luke Bujuni Health Center III in Kibaale town council after being assaulted by her husband following a family misunderstanding.
Tumuhimbise, a resident of Mbaya-Ngangi B village in Matale subcounty, Kibaale district, was allegedly beaten and injured by her husband, Senjobe Mbaaga Tuzinde, on Saturday evening.
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Mbaaga narrated that on Saturday morning, his wife, Tumuhimbise, asked him for a vehicle, claiming she was going to her parents’ home in Bwikara subcounty, Kagadi district, to take her allegedly sick mother to the hospital.
Mbaaga added that after four hours, he tried to call his wife, but she had blocked his calls. He then contacted his sister-in-law, who informed him that the mother was not seriously ill but only experiencing mild body pain.
When Tumuhimbise returned home in Matale, she parked the vehicle and immediately confronted Mbaaga for contacting her relatives about her mother’s condition.
Mbaaga recounted the incident, stating that Tumuhimbise, who was drunk at the time, hit him with a black polythene bag containing pork, which escalated the argument.
Off the record, Mbaaga alleged to the KDR FM news desk that Tumuhimbise had mistreated him on several occasions and had a plan to kill him and take control of his property.
Speaking to KDR FM from her sickbed, Tumuhimbise dismissed claims that she had been assaulted by her husband, insisting she was battling malaria. However, according to our observation, she had a swollen face and minor bruises on various parts of her body.
