14 March 2025, 11:19 am

Buyanja Secondary School in Kibaale town council, Kibaale district has been temporarily closed until further notice following an anticipated violent students strike.

The students have been threatening to stage a strike before the end of this week over an alleged disqualification of the schools boys’ football team from the Uganda Secondary Schools’ Sports Association (USSSA) games that started last week.

The students who spoke to our reporter on Wednesday morning after being sent home, accuse the school Head Teacher, George Irumba Kazoba of not being bothered and not supporting the school in co-curricular activities yet the government sends money to the school for the activities.
