Police in Kibaale district have arrested a 32-year-old woman identified as Angelica Nantume a resident of Kikaara village in Karama subcounty to aid in investigations over the gruesome murder of a 35-year-old man.
It is alleged that in the wee hours of Saturday, Yonah Nahweera now the deceased was hit on the head with an axe at the home of Nantume who is said to have been his lover.
Reliable sources say, when Yonah arrived at the home of Nantume and knocked on the door, a man identified as John Ategeka of the same village suddenly stormed out of the house of Nantume with an axe that he allegedly used to clobber the latter on the head killing him instantly.
Shocked residents led by Stephen Kasangaki the LC2 chairperson of Bucuuhya parish reveal that after arresting Nantume, pinned Ategeka who is on the run to have clobbered Yonah to death.
The angry mob of residents descended on the property of Ategeka and destroyed everything in a revenge attack.
Benon Mushabe, a resident of Katebe village in Karama subcounty who is the father to the deceased, reveals that he received the news of his son’s death with shock adding that he has been a herdsman at the farm of Mzee Rubombo.
Sophia Nalugo and Irene Akampa the wives to the deceased narrate that their husband left home last Thursday for his work at the farm of Mzee Rubombo.
By press time, the homicide team from Kibaale police station were at the scene to take on investigations.
