More than 300 households in Kibaale District are counting their losses after a hailstorm devastated their gardens.

The affected villages include Kasambya, Kineka A and B, Kikonge B in Bwamiramira Sub county, and Kidukuule in Kabasekende Sub county.

Residents report that about eight houses have been unroofed, while crops such as coffee, bananas, and sweet potatoes have been destroyed. Livestock losses include seven pigs, one goat, and several poultry birds.

Residents speak about the damage to their gardens caused by the hailstorm.

Local leaders, led by Ginazio Byaruhanga, the Parish Councillor of Kibaali Parish, and Paul Balikurungi of Kidukuule Village, told our reporter that residents are in urgent need of assistance from the authorities.

Local leaders appeal to the Office of the Prime Minister for assistance.
