NRM’s Musa declared Winner of Nyamarunda T/C District Councilor Seat in Repeat Vote

The NRM flag bearer, Agaba Musa Tom, has been declared the Direct District Councilor-elect for Nyamarunda Town Council in Kibaale District following a repeat election held on Tuesday 17th February 2026.

Tom secured 1,412 votes, representing 51.23% of the total votes cast, defeating the incumbent and independent candidate, Peter Magezi, who garnered 1,344 votes, equivalent to 48.77%.

Jackline Declaring Tom Musa as a Winner

The repeat election was conducted after the earlier general election held on January 22 ended in a tie, with both Agaba Musa Tom and Peter Magezi polling 1,418 votes each.

Jackline Atuhairwe, the Kibaale District Returning Officer, officially declared Agaba Musa Tom the winner Tuesday night and he will now represent Nyamarunda Town Council in the Kibaale District Council for the 2026–2031 term.

In his remarks shortly after being declared winner, Agaba Musa Tom thanked voters for the trust they placed in him and pledged to deliver services to all residents equally.
