At least 40 youths, aged 18 to 32, from Apac District and Apac Municipality are set to enrol for vocational training at the Lango Presidential Zonal Skilling Hub in Lira City.

The group comprises 22 boys and 18 girls. Of these, 11 girls and 9 boys are from Apac District, while 7 girls and 13 boys hail from Apac Municipality.

Jonal Okot, Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Apac, who represented RDC Andrew Onyuk at the flag-off ceremony, commended parents for entrusting their children to the government programme.

He also thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for prioritising youth empowerment through skilling initiatives.

Okot said the trainees will undertake courses in carpentry and joinery, tailoring and garment cutting, shoemaking, hairdressing, among other skills.
