Lira City’s Mentor SS shines as student wins national math contest

Mentor Secondary School in Lira City is celebrating after one of its students emerged as the winner of the 2025 National Mathematics Contest held at Makerere University.

Marvin Jovan Ojok, a Senior Four student, secured the top spot in the prestigious competition.

He credited his success to commitment and hard work in his academic journey and encouraged fellow students to participate in similar contests to enhance their confidence and skills.

Speaking about the achievement, Okwara John Augustus, Head Teacher of Mentor Secondary School – Akwoyo Campus, said the school provides proper academic guidance and mentorship to help learners realise their full potential.
