Man drowns in Otuke district after avoiding clan discipline

A 40-year-old local of Barjobi town council in Otuke district drowned in a swamp yesterday while fleeing his clan members from Onywali Ipyeda, who allegedly planned to discipline him.

Barjobi town council Chairman, Sam Bob Okello, identified the deceased as Olagara Bony, also known as Ocuc. Okello stated that Olagara fell into the water in Otongere B cell in Barjobi at around 4pm. He added that the deceased had spent the day drinking alcohol and had boycotted a clan meeting.

The body of Olagara was retrieved and taken to his home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem.
