Chua East Member of Parliament in Kitgum district, Hon Lamwaka Margaret Odwar has challenged youths to change their attitudes towards work such that they shift from small scale farming to large scale in order to get out of poverty.

The legislator made the call ahead of the delivery of seeds by Prince Willies Investment Limited to 3,000 youths in Chua East. The seeds include sorghum, maize and sunflower and will be planted this second farming season.

Lamwaka says that each group consists of 10 members and will be required to prepare 10 acres of land on which the seeds will be planted.

The crops will last for 80 days in the gardens before being harvested and processed for the market. Hon Lamwaka noted that the supplier of the seeds will make sure the farmers are linked to the market.
