A total of 161 police constables have been posted to Aswa East Police Region in a bid to boost police manpower in the newly created region.

These constables are fresh from police training school in Kabalye and will be deployed to the various districts in the region, according to the Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police – ACP, Anatoli Katungwensi.

ACP Katungwensi made the revelation on Tuesday while briefing journalists from the Aswa East Regional Police Headquarters in Kitgum town. He said the police constables will be exposed to all policing areas so that they learn since they are still on probation.

He said the deployment of these new officers will bring to the realization of the Sub County Policing Model which requires for every Sub County across the country to have 20 police officers.
