58 years old dad spears last born to death in Kole district

The police in Kole district is holding a 58 years old farther who allegedly killed his son on Sunday last week.

The suspect who is being held at Kole central police station was identified as Alex Obala, a resident of Akeca village, Agege parish in Baala sub county.

It is alleged that the suspect returned home Sunday evening from a drinking joint and found his son Patrick Otik at the family fire place. Shortly, the duo got entangled in a heated discussion which degenerated into a pandemonium after which Obala entered his hut and upon his return used it to hit the son who later died from wounds and profuse bleeding.

David Adiyo, an area resident says the incident happened around 10: PM EAT while Tom Ocen, the area LC1 chairperson says he was notified of a case of murder around midnight and he immediately rushed to the scene.

According to Ocen, he then notified the police at Agege police outpost who in turn rung the territorial police at Kole central police station and the suspected was apprehend.

Much as little is known for now as to what could have sparked this feud, the area LC1 Tom Ocen appeals to parents to always seek for peaceful resolutions of family conflicts.

Kole District Police Commander Moses Kakuriyo confirmed this incident and said his criminal investigations officers are on it and that they have the suspect.
