At least 250 out of the 332 registered infants today received the sacrament of baptism at St Joseph Watakau chapel, Panyangara parish in Kotido district. This is in preparation for the launch of the silver jubilee of the parish slated for 18th of this month,
The infants were drawn from the villages of Kadocha,Kalekori, Loriu, Kalogwala, Lobongia, Nasinyon, Poet and Lokore.
Rev.Fr. Ignatius Nshing the parish priest of Panyangara catholic parish, Kotido diocese while giving his homily encouraged parents to teach their children good morals so that they become strong believers in their faith.
He also asked the parents to support their children during this time when the schools have openned with scholastic materials needed in school so that illiteracy is reduced in Karamoja.
Andrew Ben Amone, Agnes Lotukei, Mary Grace Locheng and Caroline Awidi some of parents whose infants were baptized were delighted and encouraged other parents to send their children to church so that they receive all the sacraments.
