NMS Fuso Truck overturns killing two in Oyam

Two people have been confirmed dead in an accident which occurred on the 9th February 2023 along Lira-Kamdini highway in the areas of Loro, Oyam District.

According to Police, the two are Muzora Alex 40 yrs old a driver and Caro Ainembabazi 28 yrs old all staffs with National Medical Stores (NMS).

It’s alleged that the vehicle Registration Number UBJ 625X Fuso Box Body which belongs to National Medical Stores and being driven by Muzora and another staff Caro were coming from Entebbe loaded with Government drugs to be delivered to Otuke District, however on reaching Loro at around 6pm , the driver lost control and vehicle overturned after a tyre burst.

The North Kyoga Regional Police mouthpiece SP Patrick Jimmy Okema says report reached police in Oyam District and immediately a team of police officers led by the District Police Commander rushed to the scene and confirmed the incident.

Dead bodies were removed from the vehicle and conveyed to Anyeke Health IV where postmortem was to be conducted the following morning.

Okema said wreckage of the vehicle has been towed to Loro police station pending IOV inspection.
The Regional Manager of National Medical Stores Northern Mr Ochan Rogers was contacted who immediately liaised with National Medical Stores Management in Entebbe and another vehicle was sent to pick the drugs back to Entebbe for reloading to be delivered to Otuke as earlier planned.
Preliminary findings of the cause of the accident is tyre burst.
