Apac municipality proposes a budget of over Shs.13 billion for 2024/2025 FY.

Apac Municipality has laid a draft budget of 13,352,832,000 shillings for 2024-2025 financial year, this development arose during the main council sitting held today Thursday 28th march 2024 at schouts hall Apac.

According to the secretary finance and adminstration Mr. Ambrose Opaka, the draft budget is meant to speak to issues like low revenue gathering, poor roads, and devastation of wetlands among others.

Opaka notes that their prioritiy lies on Education with a projection of Shs 5,727,778,000 representing 49.90 Per cent, followed by health with shs 3,389,235,000, representing 25.38 per cent.

Other sectors include Administration which is anticipated for Shs1,787,812,000 representing 13.39 percent., Finance allocated 246,480,000 representing 1.85 per cent., Statutory body Shs 187,472,000, 1.40 percent., Production and Marketing, Shs 209,920,000, 1.57 percent., Roads and Engineering Shs 1,278,151,000, 9.57 percent, Natural Resources Shs269,840,000 representing 2.02 percent, Community base services Shs 126,729,000 representing 0.95 percent, among other sectors, “Opaka Said”.

The Municipal speaker Mr. Otema Ronald beseeched councilors to do more research and continually be very practical in council matters in order to tap more opportunities for their electorates and also the Municipality, He later defered the draft budget to the sectral comitee for scrutiny.

The deputy mayor, Peter Odur urged councilors to spend more time reading the budget booklet for a comprehensive scrutiny before the final budget is passed.
