Radio Apac celebrates 24 years of Transmission in style

In an event dubbed ADACARA radio Apac this year celebrated its 24 years of broadcast in style with focus on Lango culture and Innovation.

ADACARA is Radio Apac’s cultural and innovation festival that aims at bringing together diverse communities, showcase the rich cultural heritage, and foster creativity and technological advancement.

According to the chairperson organizing committee Mr. Sam Sammy Atim, this year’s festivity centers on collaboration, learning, and celebration with activities that started from 26th September 2023 through to a climax on Saturday 7 October 2023 last Saturday.

Atim said ADACARA Fest seeks to ignite the sparks of innovation, encourage cross-cultural dialogue, and build bridges between traditional practices and cutting-edge technologies which he says currently is very key in development.

The event which was much characterized by Lango cultural exhibitions was able to attract multitudes of community members from both within Lango and other regions in the country.

Mr. Jimmy Dorothy Okello the proprietor of Radio Apac/ Shine Fm Oyam acknowledged the achievement so far brought by the existence of 92.9 Fm Radio Apac which hit the air wave first in the entire Lang subregion way back in 1999.

Mr. Okello said Radio Apac has for the last 24 years been able to lay a firm foundation in broadcasting programs that aims at improving the livelihood of the community.

Radio Apac hit the air wave on 17th October 1999, this year marks its 24th year of broadcasting.

This year’s celebration took a center stage on five key objectives that includes Celebration of Diversity, Fostering Innovation, Knowledge Exchange, Showcasing Traditional & Contemporary Arts and Community Engagement.
