The restocking programs in northern Uganda continue to face uneven implementation, with the Acholi Sub-Region lagging behind compared to Lango and Teso.

A total of UGX 80 billion has been released for restocking across the three sub-regions, with Lango utilizing about 89 percent, Teso 85.5 percent, and Acholi only 46 percent.

Within Acholi, Pader District has recorded the lowest progress, with just 208 households benefiting out of 582 targeted, representing roughly 35 percent coverage.

The remarks were made by CD Lowila Oketayot the woman Member of Parliament for Pader recently during an engagement with the Senior Presidential Advisor, where she assessed the progress of the ongoing programs and highlighted gaps in implementation.

While some areas are nearing completion and delivering support to most intended beneficiaries, significant gaps remain, leaving many households without assistance.

The slow rollout in Acholi has raised concerns among district officials and stakeholders, who stress the need for improved coordination and oversight.

Lowila highlighted that better engagement with technical teams, political leaders, and community representatives is essential to ensure timely delivery of resources.

She said the disparities between sub-regions underline the need for focused interventions in Acholi to bring the coverage closer to the levels achieved in Lango and Teso.

District leaders and technical teams are now called upon to accelerate implementation, ensure accountability, and extend support to all households, so that the objectives of the UGX 80 billion restocking program are fully realized across the region.
