Leaders in Agago district are set to heighten security following the shooting of a businessman last evening.
On Tuesday 9th/June/2026 at around 8:37Pm, a businessman and a Mobile money operator was shot dead by an unknown assailants from Akado West Cell, Kalongo Town Council.
Mr. Ocana Morish, the assistant Resident district commissioner Agago district says there is need to put a police polling unit around the market square where the attack on the late Ocana occurred.
He said it is necessary to put a police unit there because the area has become a hotspot for murder by unknown assailants since the Tuesday murder brings to two people killed at the same area.
Similar call for improved security has been earlier placed by the new Agago district LCV chairperson Mr. Otoo Wilson who said each and every administrative unit in Agago district should have a polling station.
He said absence of police units in some areas is the reason for the increasing crime rate.

By press time, James Nabinson Kidega, the Agago Resident District Commissioner, told our reporter that at least three people have been arrested in connection to the brutal murder.
The suspects include two Rwandan nationals and one resident of Kalongo.
He added that the joint security forces intensified operations after the attack and recovered military-style clothing, gloves, and a shirt abandoned by the suspects in Manwoko Village, Pabala Parish, Parabongo Sub-county, about two kilometres from Kalongo Town Council.
