Failure by Agago District to operationalise the District Service Commission due to political pressure has led to the loss of funds meant for the recruitment of civil servants.

Speaking after being sworn in on 22 May 2026 as the duly elected Agago District Chairperson, Hon. Otoo Wilson said funds allocated for the recruitment of health workers at Patongo Health Centre IV were not utilised.

According to Otoo, Agago has suffered for a long time due to a lack of integrity within the Service Commission, where every applicant is alleged to require either powerful connections or bribes to secure employment.

He said he aims to restore hope for the people of Agago who study but struggle to secure jobs in their own district due to alleged corruption, which he pledged will end under his leadership, stressing that jobs in Agago are not for sale.
