Alebtong District is set to benefit from higher budgetary allocations in the coming fiscal year following its strong showing in the 2025 Local Governments Performance Assessment.

In an interview with Radio Wa News, the outgoing district chairperson, DK Odongo, confirmed that Alebtong was ranked 28th nationally with a score of 92 percent, placing it among the top-performing districts in the country.

Odongo noted that this achievement positions the district as a strong candidate for increased funding, given its demonstrated effectiveness in service delivery. He explained that improved financial allocations would support the expansion, maintenance, and upgrading of essential public facilities.

He further highlighted that districts performing well in assessments conducted by the Office of the Prime Minister often receive additional resources to accelerate development. These funds are typically directed toward key sectors such as education, healthcare, water services, and infrastructure.

Odongo emphasized that enhanced funding would significantly improve service delivery while also boosting the morale of both political leaders and technical staff, motivating them to sustain and even surpass current performance levels.

In the national rankings, Isingiro District emerged as the best-performing district with 98.37 percent, followed by Kiruhura District at 97.10 percent, and Nansana Municipal Council in third place with 94.50 percent.

Alebtong’s impressive ranking not only reflects strong leadership and service delivery but also opens the door for greater investment, which could further transform the district’s infrastructure and public services.
