Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Odur Fidel, the Project Coordinator for Vision Care, said the outreach was implemented under Fidelity Uganda, with support from Maisha Meds. The initiative provided free eye examinations and prescription eyeglasses to members of the community.

Mr. Odur explained that patients diagnosed with cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetes-related eye complications were referred to the hospital’s ophthalmology department for further evaluation and treatment.

He further revealed that 315 people were screened during the outreach, while 214 prescription eyeglasses were distributed to individuals who could not afford corrective eye care.
