Blessed Engineering Works launches ‘Back to Customer’ promotion in Lira

Blessed Engineering Works in Lira City has launched a “Back to Customer” promotion ahead of the festive season, offering discounts on selected agricultural machinery and metal fabrication services.

The promotion, which began on 1 September 2026, will run until 31 October 2026, providing farmers, agribusiness operators and other customers with an opportunity to purchase locally fabricated machinery at reduced prices.

Speaking to our reporter, the Chief Executive Director of Blessed Engineering Works, Moses Odongo, said the promotion targets high-demand agricultural equipment, particularly machinery used in post-harvest handling and food processing.

Odongo said the discounted equipment includes maize mills, groundnut grinders and hullers, commercial popcorn machines, including locally fabricated charcoal and electric models, as well as electric rock pulverisers.

He explained that the workshop primarily serves customers in Lira City and surrounding districts, producing a range of agricultural and metallic equipment such as groundnut paste processors, rice and maize hullers, feed mixers and grain threshers.

Odongo said the company is also placing emphasis on customer education, arguing that purchasing machinery should go hand in hand with acquiring the technical knowledge required to operate, maintain and repair the equipment efficiently.

Meanwhile, the Manager of Blessed Engineering Works, Vicky Moses Odongo, highlighted the importance of ensuring that women have greater access to agricultural machinery and the skills needed to operate it.

She noted that women perform a significant share of agricultural work, including shelling groundnuts and threshing grain, but are often less involved in operating the machinery used for these tasks.

According to Vicky, equipping women with machinery operation and maintenance skills could enable them to establish small-scale food-processing enterprises within their communities and potentially increase household incomes.

The promotion comes as Blessed Engineering Works continues its efforts to combine local mechanical manufacturing with practical skills development and community empowerment in the Lango sub-region.

The workshop, also known locally as Blessed Welding and Metal Fabrication (U) Ltd, is a local metal fabrication and mechanical workshop located along Aduku Road in Lira City.

The “Back to Customer” promotion is expected to give farmers and local entrepreneurs an opportunity to access agricultural machinery while raising awareness of the technical skills needed to use and maintain locally fabricated equipment effectively.
