11 Arrested in Lira City West Police Crackdown

Police in Lira City West Division have arrested 11 suspects during an early morning intelligence-led operation targeting criminal hotspots across Kakoge A, B, C, and Jinja Camp.

The operation, which ran between 00:02 hours and 05:00 hours on September 15, 2026, was launched in response to persistent community complaints regarding rising urban crime during local policing forums.

Residents highlighted major security concerns, including burglary, housebreaking, simple robbery, general theft, and phone snatching.

Suspects in Custody includes; Private Elem Creaser, Daniel Abanya, Ambrose Apenyo, Daniel Ocen, Ogete Kenneth, Owaji Marvin, Okello Emmanuel, Okirot Reagan, Oryem Morish, Eyeko Denise, Ojok Aaron and Steven Obaa.

North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema confirmed that all 11 suspects are currently held at Lira City West Division.

He said detectives are compiling their case files for submission to the Resident Chief State Attorney (RCSA) for legal review and guidance on formal charges.

Okema commended community members for providing timely intelligence that enabled the successful arrests and assured the public that joint security sweeps will continue across the division to restore safety.
