The Director of Wisdom High School, Ambrose Ogwal has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art A-Level science laboratory, aimed at separating Senior Five and Six practical sessions from O-Level classes.
Ogwal made the remarks during a dedication prayer for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates at Wisdom High School in Kole District.
He revealed that Lira City Mayor Sam Atul donated land for the new facility, commending him for supporting regional educational growth.
A state-of-the-art science laboratory is a research facility equipped with advanced technology, precise environmental controls, and flexible infrastructure designed to conduct cutting-edge scientific experimentation, analysis, and innovation.
The School Headteacher, Babra Akullo urged parents to maintain close communication with candidate students during and after the exam period, emphasizing that the school maintains strict discipline and will not hesitate to dismiss disruptive learners, regardless of impending national examinations.
Lira City Principal Education Officer Canon Jane Obeny cautioned parents against selecting schools without thoroughly examining their moral environment, warning that some institutions expose learners to substance abuse, including alcohol and cannabis consumption.
Delivering a sermon during the service, the Bishop of Light Renewal Ministry Uganda, Joseph Eleto, expressed grave concern over rising corruption levels in the country, warning that the vice is suffocating national development and crippling service delivery.
Bishop Eleto noted that Uganda is currently ranked among the most corrupt nations in East Africa because public resources intended to improve schools, health facilities, and infrastructure continue to be diverted by self-serving officials instead of benefiting ordinary citizens.
Eleto described such displays as an insult to hardworking Ugandan parents struggling to make ends meet and pay school fees.
Wisdom High School has registered 397 candidates for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) and 240 candidates for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations this year.
In the 2025 national examinations, the school was ranked 12th nationwide.
