NSSF honors Lira Hospital, 14 others in Northern Uganda for compliance

Lira Regional Referral Hospital, together with 14 other institutions across Northern Uganda, has been recognised by the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for outstanding compliance with savings regulations.

The awards ceremony, held at Magarita Palace Hotel in Lira City, brought together employers from the Lango, Acholi, and West Nile subregions.

Speaking at the event, Patrick Ayota, the Managing Director of NSSF, said the initiative aims to sensitise employers on the importance of saving and adhering to NSSF policies, while also recognising institutions that demonstrate excellence in compliance.

Meanwhile, the NSSF Chief Commercial Officer, Geoffrey Sajabi, emphasised that saving with NSSF is not limited to formally employed workers.

He noted that casual laborers and small-scale business owners can also register and benefit from the scheme. Sajabi urged residents in Northern Uganda to utilise nearby NSSF offices to seek guidance on savings and compliance in order to secure a better financial future.

A total of five entities from each subregion of Lango, Acholi, and West Nile were awarded. The recognised institutions were Lira Regional Referral Hospital, Lira Central Primary School, Love One International, African Women Rising, St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum School of Nursing, Koboko United SACCO (Arua Branch), and the Arua Catholic Diocese Board of Trustees, among others.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to NSSF for acknowledging their efforts in promoting employee savings and pledged to maintain high compliance standards.

The recognition highlights growing awareness and commitment among institutions in Northern Uganda to support workers’ financial security through proper savings and compliance with NSSF guidelines.
