A 25-year-old man has been killed following a fight with security guards at Quality Energy Petrol Station in Kangai Town Council, Dokolo District.
The deceased has been identified as Tom Okori, a resident known in the area for collecting used bottles for sale.
According to the LC3 Chairperson of Kangai Town Council, Denis Ower, the incident occurred in the early hours of 7 May 2026 at around 1 a.m. Mr Ower said Okori reportedly went to the petrol station under unclear circumstances, prompting the watchman, identified as Augustine Awio, to confront him.
It is alleged that a fight later broke out between the two before another worker at the petrol station, identified as Richard Eyelo, joined in the assault. Okori reportedly died shortly after sustaining serious injuries during the altercation.
Mr Ower said police later visited the scene and arrested two suspects accused of assaulting the deceased. Meanwhile, the body of Okori was taken to Dokolo Health Centre IV mortuary pending post-mortem examinations.
Efforts to get a comment from the North Kyoga police spokesperson, Jimmy Patrick Okema, were futile by press time.
