Hundreds of believers on 18th April 2025 demonstrated their faith in Jesus Christ by emulating His suffering through participating in the Way of the Cross along various streets within the town council.
Delivering his message to the faithful at Paipir Chapel during the Way of the Cross, Rev. Father Opoka Steven, Parish Priest of Blessed Daudi Okello and Jildo Irwa Parish, Pader, urged Christians to abstain from eating meat during this period. Instead, he encouraged them to consume alternative foods, juice, and water until the end of the spiritual journey.
Lamunu Florence Komakech, a Christian participant, shared her experience of the Way of the Cross.
Oyella Filder, another believer, expressed her faith through the Way of the Cross.
Good Friday, also known as Holy Friday, is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum.
The day is marked by fasting and church services in several Christian denominations, including Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Methodist, and others.
In many churches, the Service of the Great Three Hours’ Agony is held from noon until 3 p.m., the time when the Bible records that darkness covered the land until Jesus’ death on the cross.
