Police in Aswa East Region have recorded 3 cases of Aggravated rape in a period of a week in Pajule subcounty, Pader district alone.
Inspector of Police Oloya Joe, the acting spokesperson for Aswa East said one of the cases involved a 13-year-old-boy who raped a four year old girl in Oryang Central village, Oryang parish in Pajule subcounty, Pader district at Mid-day. He said the victim was playing with her colleagues when the 13-year-old took advantages and raped her.
In another case that happened on October 24th 2024 in Paitino village, Alim Parish, Lapul subcounty in Pader district, a one Moro Joseph, aged 32 and a resident of Lanyatido village, Lapul subcounty raped a 16 year old school girl on her way from school.
IP Oloya said the victim tried to make an alarm but all in vain. He also said the suspect is under detention at Pajule Police Station and will appear in court this week.
He also disclosed that another rape case was reported by Okot Francis, a nurse and resident of Ngombale village, Atoo parish, Bongtiko subcounty in Pader district where Okot Ken, 15 took advantage of a mentally ill 16-year-old girl and raped her.
He said that when the victim began feeling uneasy on 26th October 2024 she was taken for medical checkup and was found pregnant.
He said the suspect is under police custody while investigations continue.
