Man kills four family members, injures one in Mucwini

Residents of Tepwoyo village, Pudo parish in Mucwini West sub county, Kitgum district are in shock after a man, identified as Ocaya Francis Lawinyo, 31, murdered his three children, his wife, and left another child seriously injured. He also set three huts ablaze following the gruesome incident.

The deceased children have been identified as Akena Robinson, 10, Omara Canon, 5, and Aloyo Nancy, while the slain woman, whom he had eloped with just a month ago, has been identified as Adoch Nancy.

The injured child, Lakica Sunday, 8, is in critical condition at Kitgum General Hospital.

According to the Kitgum Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Ebil Jimmy Ssegawa, Ocaya fled the scene, and by press time this morning, his whereabouts remained unknown.

Mr. Ssegawa stated that police and army officers have cordoned off the area as a crime scene. He urged locals to assist the security team with any information that could lead to Ocaya’s arrest.
