Lamwo District Local Government is set to swear in newly elected district councillors who will serve for the next five years under the 2026–2031 term. The event will also pave the way for the election of a new District Speaker, a position expected to be filled by a competent and corruption-free leader.

Attention is also focused on the district leadership under Hon. Oyet Sisto Ocen, who begins his second term as Lamwo District Chairperson after serving the district for the previous five years. Expectations remain high for improved service delivery, accountability, and development during the new leadership term.

As Lamwo enters a new chapter of governance, councillors are expected to elect leaders who will promote unity, transparency, accountability, and effective representation for the people of the district.

Among those in the speakership race is Hon. Ouma Vincent Loisky, the Workers’ Councillor, while Hon. Abalo Doris, former Secretary for Production and Natural Resources, also remains part of the ongoing leadership discussions in the district.
