More than 40 corporate teams from across Uganda are expected to participate in the Uganda National Corporate Tournament (UNCT), scheduled to take place in Kitgum on June 27–28, 2026.
The tournament is the first edition of the Uganda National Corporate Tournament, which will be played across six zones including Northern Region, West Nile, Central, Western, Bunyoro, and Elgon regions.
Mr. Wanda Innocent Henry, the representative of UNCT Northern Region and also the chairperson of Elite Corporate Team in Kitgum, said the games are expected to attract more than 40 teams. He noted that players below 30 years of age will not be allowed to participate.
He added that the tournament will feature football and indoor games such as ludo, chess, tug of war, as well as children’s games among others.
Mr. Wanda further explained that every player will be required to present a National Identification Card for verification, warning that any team found fielding ineligible players will face automatic disqualification.
Meanwhile, during a press conference held at Christ the King Social Centre, Mr. Lubangakene Moses, the Chairperson of DFA Kitgum, said hosting the UNCT in Kitgum will have a positive economic impact on the business community.
He called upon more corporate teams from the greater Acholi sub-region to register and participate in the games, noting that registration costs Shs300,000 per team.
Mr. Lubangakene also appealed for cooperation and unity ahead of the tournament, saying organizers are already working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safety of visitors and members of the public who will attend the games.
The tournament will be played under the theme: “Kitgum Municipality Must Be Clean
