Acholi Province FUFA Drum Match Budget Reaches 18 Million Shillings

The Local Organising Committee for the upcoming FUFA Drum match between Acholi Province and Buganda Province has set a budget of 18 million shillings to facilitate the game in Kitgum Municipality.

Speaking during a sports programme, the committee’s Head of Finance, Otto Simon Peter, said the budget will cater for different activities, including welfare, team facilitation, transport, stadium preparation, health and security.

The proposed budget includes 2 million shillings for welfare, 9.4 million for team facilitation, 1.6 million for transport, 1.8 million for stadium and field dressing, 1 million for stadium announcements, and 780,000 shillings for health and security.

Otto called upon football fans and well-wishers to turn up in large numbers and support the organising committee with whatever contribution they can afford.

He said letters have already been sent to various institutions seeking financial and other forms of support for the match.

The Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Akena Richard, said the match is an opportunity to celebrate Acholi’s ancestors and called for collective support for Acholi Province.

Akena also appealed to the business community, hotel owners and other well-wishers to support the team, saying the match presents business opportunities for the local community.

Acholi Province will face Buganda Province, the winners of the 2018 FUFA Drum, on 27 September 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Kitgum Bomah Ground.
