Police in Agago District are investigating a suspected poisoning incident that has left two people dead and two others critically ill in Paimol Sub-county.
The incident occurred in Ngora East Village, where 38-year-old Apio Esther and her three-year-old son, Kilega Emmanuel, were found unconscious inside their home on the morning of April 17th.
According to police, a worker at Apio’s hotel in Ngora Trading Centre became suspicious after finding her employer’s door locked for unusually long. She forced it open and discovered Apio and her three children lying unconscious.
They were rushed to Kalongo Hospital, where Apio Esther and her young son were pronounced dead on arrival. Two other children, aged 12 and 9, are currently receiving treatment.
Police say the cause of the suspected poisoning is not yet known, and no suspect has been identified.
The bodies have been taken for post-mortem examination as investigations continue. Officers are yet to visit the scene and record statements from witnesses.
Police say inquiries are ongoing, and more details will be communicated as they become available.
