Residents of Agago District have been urged to observe the Easter holidays responsibly, with a strong focus on the safety and wellbeing of children.

The appeal was made by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Agago, Susan Akot Moro, during a live interview on Tembo FM on Friday morning.

Ms Moro cautioned parents and guardians against allowing children to visit entertainment venues such as discotheques and video halls during the festive period, stressing the importance of protecting them from potential risks.

She also warned the public against excessive alcohol consumption, noting that it often contributes to gender-based violence and other social challenges within communities.

The Deputy RDC further urged residents to embrace responsible living and to use the Easter season as a time for reflection on values that promote harmony and mutual respect within families and society.

Ms Moro particularly encouraged parents to lead by example, emphasising that strong family values are essential in building a disciplined and united community.

She concluded by calling for unity among residents as they celebrate the Easter season.
