Lamwo District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Achora Nancy Odongo has offered university scholarships to five students from different parts of the district, pledging to pay their tuition and hostel fees until graduation.
The beneficiaries were selected on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, during a meeting at the Lamwo Resident District Commissioner’s boardroom.
The beneficiaries are Oroma Ivan Odonga, who will study Electrical Engineering at Kampala International University; Kakoza Bright Odongkara, Physical Sciences at Gulu University; Kalokwera Robin, Primary Arts Education at UNITE; Okumu Emmanuel, Education at St Lawrence University; and Aciro Evelyn, Procurement and Supply Chain Management at Gulu University.
Hon. Achora said the scholarship fulfils a campaign commitment and supports learners facing financial challenges. However, students will meet their own food, pocket money and other personal expenses.
She urged beneficiaries to avoid unnecessary outings, gambling and strikes, while encouraging parents to continue providing support and guidance. Achora said the scholarship funds will be deposited into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts next week, with receipts issued for accountability.
Lamwo RDC William Komakech urged the students to work hard, maintain discipline and use the scholarships productively to shape their future.
