The Member of Parliament-elect for Chua West Constituency in Kitgum District, Hon. Oryema Simon Peter Adum, has urged students returning home for holidays to engage in income-generating activities to help support their families.
He made the remarks while officiating as chief guest during a vocational day held at Christ the King Parish in Kitgum, which attracted over 500 students from different schools across the district.
Hon. Oryema encouraged learners to use their holiday time productively by taking up small jobs or engaging in business activities to supplement what their parents provide.
He also warned students against engaging in drug abuse and other risky behaviors, urging them instead to focus on constructive activities that can build their future.
The MP-elect further appealed to parents to guide their children during the holidays and involve them in economic activities such as farming and small-scale businesses.
