North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema has been assigned additional duties as spokesperson for the Aswa East and Aswa West police regions.

Aswa East Regional Police Commander Senior Superintendent of Police Ben Okar confirmed the development to Tembo FM on Monday, saying the move is intended to bridge information gaps between the police, the media and the public.

Okar said Okema would serve in the additional roles until substantive spokespersons are appointed for the two regions.

In a communication to journalists, Okema confirmed that, with effect from Monday, 19 October, he would handle media enquiries concerning incidents in Aswa East and Aswa West, alongside his duties in North Kyoga.

Okema previously served as Aswa Regional Police Spokesperson before the region was split into Aswa East and Aswa West.

He has called on journalists to share information about incidents in the two regions to enable the police to verify reports and provide timely updates.
