A total of 516 households in Lamwo District are set to receive restocking funds amounting to UGX 2.3 billion in June 2026.
The Lamwo District Chairperson, Mr Oyet Sisto Ocen, said that the list of beneficiaries selected for the first phase of the restocking programme has already been submitted to the ministry, and the district is now awaiting the release of the funds.
Mr Sisto noted that the district is fully prepared to implement the government programme and ensure that the restocking initiative contributes to poverty eradication among households in the district.
Meanwhile, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr William Komakech, said that beneficiaries are expected to start receiving the funds during the first or second week of June 2026.
He added that the RDC’s office will ensure that government policies and programmes are effectively implemented and monitored. Mr Komakech explained that each beneficiary household will be given one week to utilise the funds for their intended purpose, after which the RDC’s office, working closely with local security officials, will conduct follow-up monitoring to ensure that the programme is being implemented on the ground as planned.
