516 Households in Lamwo to Receive Restocking Funds

A total of 516 households in Lamwo District are set to receive restocking funds amounting to UGX 2.3 billion in June 2026.

The Lamwo District Chairperson, Mr. Oyet Sisto Ocen, said the list of beneficiaries selected for the first phase of the restocking programme has already been submitted to the ministry, and the district is now waiting for the funds to be released.

Mr. Sisto noted that the district is fully prepared to implement the government programme and ensure that the restocking initiative contributes to poverty eradication among households in the district.

Meanwhile, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. William Komakech, said beneficiaries are expected to start receiving the funds between the first and second week of June 2026.

He added that the RDC’s office will ensure that government policies and programmes are effectively implemented and monitored. Mr. Komakech explained that each beneficiary household will be given one week to utilize the funds for the intended purpose, after which the RDC’s office, working together with local security officials, will conduct follow-up monitoring to ensure the programme is implemented on the ground as planned.
